COVID-19 SCREENING PROTOCOL:
Due the seriousness of the COVID-19 pandemic we at Special Medical Aid are taking extreme precautions for your event, facility or venue. During the COVID-19 Pandemic, Special Medical Aid offers you around the clock 24/7 medical aid/covid-19 services. Upon entry of such event every patron will be met with COVID-19 screening protocols beginning with first level temperature checks to accurately identify any individual that may have an above normal body temperature.
WHAT WE DO:
Screen individuals who enter the event or facility, including:
All employees before the start of each work shift
*All visitors
*All clients
*Anyone else entering the facility during our scheduled shift
COVID-19 SCREENING QUESTIONS:
Have you or anyone in your home come in contact within the last fourteen days with any person under screening/testing for COVID-19, or with anyone with known or suspected COVID-19?
Do you currently have any of the following symptoms?
*Fever (100.4°F or higher), or a sense of having a fever.
*Recent cough that cannot be attributed to another health condition.
*Recent shortness of breath that cannot be attributed to another health condition.
*Recent sore throat that cannot be attributed to another health condition.
*Recent muscle aches (myalgias) that cannot be attributed to another health condition, or that may have been caused by a specific activity (such as physical exercise).
SPECIAL MEDICAL AID HEALTH SCREENING PROCEDURE:
*Temperature check.
*O2 saturation check.
*A thorough examination for signs/symptoms of illness or injury.
*If required, obtain and record information as well as any necessary documents required by medical, legal, and health authorities.
If an individual exhibits any symptoms during the health screening or answers YES to any of the screening questions Special Medical Aid will immediately activate COVID-19 protocol and do the following:
*Immediately move the individual(s) to a designated isolation room (provided by the event or site)
*Do a review of the screening results.
*Make recommendations for exclusion of the individual from the facility.
*Provide prompt stabilization prior to transport if necessary.
*Make recommendations for medical follow-up.
If an individual answers NO to all of the screening questions, the individual then will be permitted into the facility with a reminder of COVID-19 prevention strategies:
*Maintaining social (physical) distancing of 6 feet
*Wearing an acceptable face covering in accordance with state regulations
*Washing hands (soap and water for 20 seconds or hand sanitizer containing at least 60% alcohol)
*Covering coughs and sneezes with an elbow, avoiding touching their face, and cleaning surfaces
OUR LEGAL AND ETHICAL GUIDELINES:
*Special Medical Aid refuses to participate in any unethical procedures as well as assumes the responsibility to expose incompetence or unethical conduct of others to the appropriate authority in a proper and professional manner.
*Special Medical Aid will respect and hold in confidence all information of a confidential nature obtained in the course of professional work unless required by law to divulge such information which pertains to the COVID-19 screening
*THIS DOCUMENT REFLECTS CONSIDERATIONS FOR ENHANCING PROTECTION OF INDIVIDUALS AND COMMUNITIES AND PREVENTING THE SPREAD OF COVID-19 PER THE CDC’S INTERIM GUIDELINES. PROTOCOLS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CDC AS WELL AS LOCAL GOVERNMENT REGULATIONS.
